Matcha is a 100% organic finely ground green tea sourced from certified organic farms in the KIOTO prefecture (Japan). This is traditional matcha from the third harvest (3rd harvest / culinary grade), characterized by its intense green color, distinctive flavor with a delicate hint of bitterness, and high content of natural active compounds. It is perfect for everyday consumption as well as an addition to cocktails, desserts, and baked goods.
Thanks to its naturally occurring caffeine, amino acids (L-theanine), vitamins, and minerals – Matcha has a stimulating effect while also promoting relaxation and overall well-being. Matcha contains over 137 times more antioxidants than regular green tea.
What makes the unique properties of this finely ground green tea so highly valued in a healthy diet and active lifestyle?
Matcha supports concentration and provides energy for many hours. Green tea naturally contains caffeine – matcha delivers about 34 mg per serving, while traditional green tea contains on average about 30 mg, and espresso about 60 mg. The presence of L-theanine ensures that energy is released gradually, without a sudden crash. Like green tea, matcha contains powerful antioxidants – including catechins, which exhibit antioxidant properties and support the body’s natural protection. Catechins may also inhibit the growth of Fusobacterium nucleatum bacteria, responsible for tooth decay and periodontal diseases.
Preparation method
How can I consume Matcha? Pour 200 ml of water at 70–80°C over half a small teaspoon of matcha. Whisk vigorously until a frothy layer forms. You can also add matcha to cakes, baked goods, mix it with milk, or blend it into your favorite smoothie.
